Robiniho Manchester City transfer Sketch

In this very exciting deadline day, where Robiniho looks very likely to sign for Manchester City (why???) who have just been bought by wealthy Arabs who are from Abu Dhabi, I thought of a sketch relating to it. Dhabi is on the telephone to Real Madrid President Ramon Calderon finalising the deal. For the sake of argument, I will call the Abu Dhabi businessmen Dhabi.

CALDERON: So Robiniho is happy to come to you and we are more than happy with the price.
DHABI: Thankyou. He will be a record signing for the Premier League. I can't wait to see our fans faces. With two hours to go in the deadline aswell
CALDERON: Shall we put pen to paper then
DHABI: Not just yet. I will make the signing with forty-five minutes to go until the close, just to get the fans exciting and to let the mind games play.
CALDERON: Okay, I will ring you back then in one hour and fifteen minutes
(11.15)
DHABI: Hello Mr Calderon, can we at last make the deal?
CALDERON: Yes, I'm very excited. I can't wait to see the luck on a certain Mr Abramovic's face.
DHABI: Brilliant. Let's finalise the deal then
CALDERON: One second, there is one snag. What time do you make it?
DHABI: Quarter past eleven. Still forty five minutes to go until the window closes
CALDERON: Yes, but I forgot to mention. It is quarter past twelve over here in Spain. The window closed fifteen minutes ago.
DHABI: But...
CALDERON: We could have finalised the deal, but you wanted to play all them mind games.
DHABI: But...
CALDERON: Try again in January. Goodnight
(He puts the phone down)
DHABI: SHIT!!!

Feedback very welcome, positive/neutral/negative.

I like the idea but it doesn't really make any sense - you can do the deal up to the GMT deadline regardless of where the other party is (Madrid is GMT as well isn't it?).

Well shit if that's being pedantic then don't worry about it; what i really thought i should add is that i think it would be more appealing if the premier league buyer is a hate figure like Alex Ferguson (after Berbatov) then people would be quicker to laugh at the misfortune.

You had a short window with this sketch and unfortunately the facts have got in the way. Critique-wise - I think the time difference thing was easily telegraphed early on.

Yeah, I'm afraid that - as a man u fan - I'm morally obliged to hate everything to do with Manchester City. Sorry!

They bumped up Berbatov's price by a few million - bastards!
