I suspect it's depressing because anyone posting 20 a day is roughly posting on average once an hour, day and night. That is actually quite a lot.
I tend to have spells here where I disappear for a while (not that anyone would notice) and then have a spurt but even then I've been averaging about 2.5 a day over nearly 3 years. I'm a regular on another forum and have done over 3000 there and 500 on another and that's just the main three.
Then you have Facebook, Twitter and the rest and you begin to wonder what the hell we're all doing with our lives...
I did some maths, and I'm averaging 22 posts a day, but I think my posting is becoming more frequent.
Ah I did it by averaging the number of posts from time joining the forum.
I've been here nearly 3 years, my word have I ever wasted my life.
I don't think it's a waste exactly, or embarrassing!
It's just chatting, innit.
Like you did all through school, like you do at work. It's just on the internet instead of in the flesh.
(And seriously, look at my number before you get embarrassed, if I'm not ashamed of my mountain of shit-talking, you shouldn't be.)
