Better but the Brown is both expositional and telegraphs the joke to much.

Better to have him do the Welsh bit, then say something like
"Worked for Cameron"

Some exposition may be required for the benefit of those of us who do not go through the news with a flea comb looking for ideas for sketches.

As God is my witness, I'll nail this sketch. I'll make it the funniest sketch there ever was, dammit. You'll lose control over your bowels by the time I've finished.

So says Bandage.

*orders man-sized nappy*

Have you been Wonder Bandage for 24 hours yet?
Or are you finding that she is a keeper.

Yes. Probably a good idea to quote me there, Nil.

Thing is audience may laugh hard at 5% of a gag they understand, more than a 100% they understand but bores them.

A dour Gordy doing Gavin and Stacey will get a big laugh, whether people understand why he's doing it or not.

n.b. Bandage do you have to keep using the word tight when dressed up as Wonderwoman?

No, I've got another 12 hours.

Damn!

Oh, for the record, Griff, I was intending that Brown would speak in his normal Scottish burr until the point at which he goes cod-Welsh.

This thread's great. I had no idea I could be unfunny in so many different ways.

Is there higher than that?

The audience laughed, I got paid, one got used in the Xmas show case.

Writing to one's audience, is there a higher calling?

You're funny, your sketch is funny.

But we can all be funnier.

But we can all be funnier.

This is true.

I might have to do two different versions of this sketch - one Griffed up, the other completely and utterly sootyjed. Then perhaps we could put it to the public vote.

Griff you really can read my mind.

Though for originality I'd have the sheep shag them.

Er hem ever since it came out that his "Minder Bender" tour was literal rather than figurative.

I won't be calling any one Derren Brown.

Yeah, those bloody gays eh.

Ruining magic for everyone!
