About five mins in there is some talky stuff might give you an idea. Some great acting in a pith helmet!!

:)

:)

No arguments here.

So who the f**k is he.

That would be PG Wodehouse in the pic. The guy in the Pith Helmet would be me. :)

Oh how jolly. :D
Bless. Are you still that posh?

I think the first of his I read was 'The girl on the Boat' as a teenager. A seminal read.

It was all v tongue in cheek. Not posh me, though I do so enjoy a glass of Pimms No I cup.

:)

Just googled it and you are right it had Norman Wisdom in it as well.... never knew that.

I always wanted to write a comedy film about him, Shakespeare in Love/Moliere styley but the whole WWll stuff gets in the way I think, sadly. Maybe not if I keep him in his twenties...?

I think his impotence and complete lack of interest in women might also rule him out as as a romcom lead.

Whose?

Was it Kit Marlowe who said. Never let the truth get in the way of a good story.

:)

Bonus points for seeing what I did there.

Shakesperean name pun based on controvery over his true identity?

Not quite. But close ish :)

LOL

Well I couldn't remember who said it originally so I attributed it to Kit Marlowe who was famously a spy for English intelligence, whatever it was called at the time - so disinformation being another way of not letting the truth get in the way of a good story so you are kinda right.

But the main thing is that Marlowe was one of the main characters in 'The Girl on the Boat.'!

Ok not very clever really.

The prize is a signed photo of Liz Sladen from the early eighties.

:)

I demand that prize!

Damn it I was close and needed it.

Kit was a nickname for Shakespeare and Shakespeare is thought by idiots to have been a pseudonym for some of Marlowes writings.

We could always brawl in a pub over it.

No Knives mind!

I once started a comic play about the pair of them and it being Shakespeare who was killed and not Marlowe, and Marlowe nicking his wife and identity. It was going to be called Leer, but I didn't get much past the opening scene and a drinking song.
