I'm ashamed to say I don't get Page 6

She nibbled the scenery in You'll Have Had Your Tea? and Abigail's Party. Probably because of her character actress status?

I think you're right. Maybe it's just the parts she gets offered? I seem to recall reading that that Twat Corden and the splendid Ruth Jones wrote the part of Pam especially for her after meeting on the set of 'Fat Friends'.

If I was forced to watch Mrs Brown I'd scweam and scweam until I was sick.

You should give it a go. Billy Connelly is a surprisingly good actor and Judi Dench is great as always.

All of the above have a "silly" side to them. Sort of thing that teenage boys loved talking to their mates at school about. Also a manic side (except Dibley). Could that be what binds them ? The only reason I omit the other on you list is I'm not familiar enough with them to comment, but Mrs Brown looks silly.

I like silly sometimes. I absolutely love Look Around You, The Peter Serafinawicz Show, Not Only But Also, Garth Marenghi's Darkplace, Father Ted, The IT Crowd, 15 Storeys High, Big Train, most of Rik & Ade's stuff.

Keith Lemon
Seinfeld

But with no sense of shame over either.

Keith Lemon - Agree
Seinfeld - It did take about 10 episodes before I started to enjoy it. Then I became completely hooked.

Gavin And Stacy. Very run of the mill and boring. No idea how it got as big as it did. It has a great cast though.

Ali-G. I like all his other characters but this one stuck around for way too long and I just don't understand why.

Gavin And Stacy - Agree. Not sure about a great cast though. For every good performer (Rob Brydon, Ruth Jones, Julia Davies, Adrian Scarborough) there's someone shit (Matthew Horne, Joanna Page, Larry Lamb, James Cordon). I didn't include Alison Steadman as she's a good performer who is shit in this.

Ali-G - I have a problem with practical jokes and hoodwinking people for fun.

Same here, and that is really a mystery because as a classic rock fan I should constantly be wanking over the several 70s rock references. I just don't think it's very funny, apart from a few chuckles I didn't move a muscle. Also Coogan's performance seems very odd and wooden to me...normally I do like him a lot, AP is one of my faves and I also like The Trip.

It's a shame, because I like the idea of a cynical ex-roadie unable to cope with the modern world and modern music. Also it has a classy opening sequence/theme tune. A missed opportunity. But maybe it's just me and I just don't get it.

I didn't get Saxondale first time round. Fell in love with it when I rewatched it a couple of years later.

While you are on the subject - Tony Ferrino. The one character that is lost on me.

I liked it, but I don't think it would have worked as a long term character. The 'Audience with' had one of my favourite lines. Right at the beginning Coogan (doing an commentator type voice) narrates over stock footage of celebrities on the red carpet arriving at various film premiere and award shows (in the context that they are arriving at Ferrino's 'audience with' show.

He says "There they are, the two Bruces, Willis and Forsyth. Tom Conti.....you just can't get rid of him"
