On a serious note, why is it ok to employ kids as actors, but not to make cheap trainers? Child stars always grow up to be messed up adults, so we might as well get some cheap clothing out of it.

Genius!

I found the laughter annoying at the beginning (very loud), then i must have tuned it out.

Thank YOU. :)

Slightly off topic (sorry, Mark) but I don't see why people get so wound up about laughter tracks.

Nor I. Until last night.

But people are always coming on here and saying 'I hated the canned laughter' about shows we know full well had a live studio audience.

Most of the time about shows I've actually been to a recording of...

And trainers are of far greater use.

A bit rubbish. It won't get a series.

C4 comedy head loved the pilot and commissioned it from the basis alone, so it's likely it WILL get one.

If it's real laughter I never notice it. If it's all canned then I do and it does annoy me.

A lot of people do assume that all laughter tracks are canned though, when many of them aren't.

Some of the sketches were done live to an audience, VT was piped in and responses recorded. Like most telly shows.

Prezunctly.

Well done on that Seefacts, I congratulated you before but its still a great achievement. I hope it gets a series for you.

It never ceases to surprise me how some people have a complete lack of respect for other people on here. It wasn't my cup of tea personally, but it's a lot better than a lot of stuff, so good effort.

Oh and I'm with Aaron about the annoying laughter and out-of-place round of applauses.

Whoever said that British comedy is going down the shitter? (Is that the guy who resembles Mark Lamarr on a particularly bad day?)

Really? I mean ... Really? That honestly has surprised me.

Respect is what makes us leave honest comments rather than sycophantic ones.

I am not suggesting that all positive comments have been solely made to appease Seefacts, before anyone reads it that way.

There is a big difference between being honest and sycophantic. Although, not for some people it seems. I think I was honest and respectful and not at all sycophantic or brutal.

I says it as I sees it. Many mainstream, successful writers etc visit this site. I'm not going to tone down my hatred, or up my praise, of any particular show because I know or suspect that they will see it.

But that's my two penneth anyway. I'm sure Seefacts doesn't care what the nay-sayers think, being the firm minority which we are.

Totally respect that Aaron, just having my two pennyworth's worth too. Bloody hell its like a forum around here!
;)

Inbetween brutal honesty and fawning sycophancy lie the options of tact and diplomacy. Tact and diplomacy show respect to the other person. Neither of the other options do this.

For some people, the urge to proclaim their views to the world overrides all other considerations. This is, as we all know, prevalent on messageboards. And I am no stranger to this impulse myself. But let us not confuse this with any sincere desire to treat others with respect.

Too true.

Or in short: "why be a dick?"

Absolutely agree with both points. Cool

I'm not expected a big pat on the back from people who didn't like it.

I care what people think because if they like it, then great. If not, I'll get over it.

I'm proud of my input and that's good enough for me.

Yes, the stuff that wasn't location was done in a theatre in London in front of any audience. The audience was virtually entirely family and friends so you'd expect a hyped response.

I certainly hope people have been honest. Given how much I've banged on about having a thick skin, I'd be a bit of hypocrite to start crying about a bit of bad press.

Has anyone seen any of the other Comedy Lab shows?

I caught about 5 minutes of 'Slaterwood' on Friday night, but had to turn it off. It was not good.

I still haven't seen it yet.

Don't know if anyone else watched Headwreckers? Tried to attempt a book a while ago and had one of the characters saying 'This kinda thing only happens in books.' In an ironic postpostmodern way. At the time someone said - the last thing you need to be reminded that you're reading a book. Every few minutes this show pops up with the writers and reminds you that you are watching a TV programme. Argh. It's like watching an in joke. Or a really lazy idea. One of the two...
