London 2012 Event Sketch

A bit obvious?

1)
SEBASTIAN COE AND PANEL SEATED AROUND A CONFERENCE TABLE, LONDON 2012 OLYMPICS LOGO ON SCREEN BEHIND.

SEBASTIAN COE:
Right, we're allowed to nominate a sport for inclusion in London 2012. Obviously, we want to give ourselves the best possible chance of winning. Anyone got any suggestions?

PANEL MEMBER 1:
We're good at cycling,

P MEMBER 2
And at anything involving a boat

P MEMBER 3:
And cricket

LAUGHS AND SNIGGERS AMONGST PANEL:

COE:
I said we wanted to give ourselves the BEST chance of winning. (PAUSE) But hold on a minute, that gives me an idea…

TAKES OUT HIS PHONE AND DIALS:

Freddy? Hi, Seb Coe here…Look, we need someone to captain one of our Olympic teams in London and you're just perfect for the job…no, I'm not going to reintroduce cricket…But your country needs you! Who else is as qualified to lead the Pedalo racing team?

CAMERA PANS TO WINDOW SHOWING VIEW OVER RIVER. TWO PEOPLE ARE FRANTICALLY PEDALLING IN A PEDALO, WHICH IS V SLOWLY MOVING ACROSS VIEW

SEB COE:
Well, that's sorted then.

I like (1), but the punch could be a bit tighter, possibly along the lines of "Freddy Flintoff? Hi, Seb Coe here. You still got that pedalo?"

It's a clever idea merging two sports we're good at into Pedalo racing. I prefer the second as it would be visually funnier to see it rather than people sat round a table.

Aha! That's what I was ineptly fumbling for

Yes, with Graham's ending that works.

Thanks for fixing it Graham :)
