Not Going Out - Series 3 Page 71
I've just skimmed through the last few pages of this thread & I don't think I've seen any mention of this but Comedy Central Extra have just broadcast the never shown episode - the Christmas Special. I've just finished watching it. Complete fluke I saw it at all. Was just skimming thorugh the channels, saw NGO was on, flicked it on & though "hang on, I haven't seen this one!"
I thought someone mentioned that the BBC may still show it at Christmas but obviously they aren't going to if it's gone out on Comedy Central already.
Did anyone else see it? Did anyone esle know it was even on?
Did I just dream it?
I wouldn't say that's "obvious" at all, not in the slightest. If they've bought the rights to the series and that's been included in the pack, then they'll show it.
Verrrry interesting it's been on though. I've set a recording for the repeat in an hour.
Not Going Out is starting here next Friday. Is it something to look forward to?
Yes. Yes. And, um, YES.

Good. Thanks, Aaron.
That is why I have been spending time looking through these threads. Much more entertaining than what passes for comedy on our screens. Benidorm being the exception.
Well, I've just watched the final episode, and am a bit more relaxed about the cancellation of the show. All tied up nicely.
But I'm also even more angry. How they can justify cancelling a show so funny, so well-written and all-round excellent as Not Going Out whilst continuing to produce pap like, say, Total Wipeout, is barmy.
That woman really is a proper Jane.
I'm sure I saw it being recorded but can't remember anything about it.

Do they have to ask permission of your next of kin before they wheel you and the other residential home patients out to sitcom recordings, Dave?
Did it have "that one, you know, he was married to whatshername?" or "that other one, the tall one, that one you like" in it?

I can't believe they've shown the last episode yet the BBC won't show it till Christmas! I can't even get that channel.
Can I ask what happens in the final episode?
You can.
But I won't say.
Synopsis is of course available on this site though: https://www.comedy.co.uk/tv/not_going_out/episodes/3/8/
I thought not. I'm going to have to wait till Christmas then....
Not sad to see this one go.
I'm not a fan of 'I say, I say, I say...' type humour. It just seems so old hat, and in no way innovative. Not a problem if it makes me laugh; this didn't.
I much prefer comedy that is grounded in reality - like The Office or The Royle Family.
But each to their own.

I love both of those shows - but also NGO because it's gag gag gag.

That's the sound this show made as it struggled to stay alive in face of such bad scripts.
