The ESB comes from a tiny brewery in the middle of nowhere about 10 miles from my house. The brewer's blurb:

Our winter seasonal is inspired by the great ales of the UK but brewed with a distinctively American attitude. English crystal malt gives Phoenixx its subtle toffee and caramel notes, but this ale is about hops. The blend of English hops, highlighted by its namesake, Phoenix, yields a complex hop character that dominates this special brew.
ABV: 7.2%, IBU: 50

Does anyone know what Highland Park single malt whisky is like?

I've been given a small bottle of it and don;t know whether I should be adding coke to it or not. :)

Adding single malt to coke is so wroing it might as well be French.

I'm being naughty and having lucozade.

I know. But the name sounds so crap (Highland Park) that, although it's been aged 12 years, I wonder if it's crap. :)

It's a pretty naff name admittedly.

Kinda like Royal Comissar Vodka.

The posher the name the worse the product.

According to my 'Malt Whisky Companion' book it's very good. The 12 year old one that I have is the best. I think I shall be raising a glass of it to Robbie Burns.

A lovely cup of tea, made all the more lovely by the fact that I asked my mum to "pop the kettle on", and she did the whole tea-making process for me instead. Pleased

That's like the sole purpose of mums.
