Sadly he died 23 years before I arrived so a lot of the knowledge was lost.
These days you need a chemistry degree to be in that trade.
Then, you just had to have an interest in it and live near the Thames.

I do occasionally dabble with loose tea in a pot, but I cannot stand cleaning the pot out afterwards and the tedious task of scooping all the leaves out. I guess I could just buy an infuser to avoid all this.

Anyway, I'm drinking instant coffee right now.

That's allowed - too much faff with grinding beans etc.
Tried for Ghost Ship - no longer on.
Then Long Blonde - temporarily not on.
And settled for Grasshopper.
It turned out to be an entirely average third choice pint.
