That second one is just silly. You should be able to be called Miss, Mrs or Ms. Whatever. I like Miss.
I do hate when women get called Mrs John Smith though. That's f**ked up. Mrs Smith is enough, surely.
I'm personally a Ms because I have never understood why it's important to be Miss when single and Mrs when married and I get the odd person asking if I'm divorced because it's quite common to be a Ms if you are. But to be honest if someone refered to me as Miss, it's a non issue. I wouldn't stand there and announce "It's Ms ACTUALLY" and stomp off in my Dr Martins. And IF I ever did get married, I'd have no issue taking my husbands name cause I hate my surname anyway!
I agree with Zooo on the whole "Mrs John Smith" though cause I find it quite rude as the poor woman has a name of her own.
The title 'Ms' conjures up the image of an embittered, tired, wrinkly old man-hating harridan.
I think I want everyone to call me Lady of The Manor...
