. But I'm sure Wenger will moan about injuries etc. at the end. ;) They've still got much better players than West Brom.

By far. They're gonna go back down bless em, we all know it. That's what West Brom do. Be interesting to see what happens with Stoke and Hull.

Not a particularly inspired game is it?
Can't help but feel Arsenal will get a second though - probably when Albion start pushing forward towards the end.

Probably, although they did have that double chance a minute ago.

Seen as it is the opening day, I will put on an early league table. Tommorow, don't forget- Manchester United, Newcastle, Portsmouth, Chelsea, Manchester City and Aston Villa are in action tomorrow, I will PM you all individually with your respective players scores and put on the end of the weeks results on the thread. Anyway, here is an early league table:
1. Eleese's Eleven 25
2. Gary Glitters U-16 FC 22
3. Jack's Jugs 21
4. Hangover Rovers 17
5. Putters Poncing Pirates 16
6. Superyid United 15
7. Nick's Super Dongs 13
8. Football Team XI 12
9. Inter Pies and Pasties 11

Aaaah, mid-table obscurity. Lovely. :)

Where on earth did you get 16 points from????
I really really don't understand the scoring :S
Only Upson played for your side today!

Yes, but you have seven players in action tomorrow.

Upson played Edit; Don't think he did actually.

Ohhhhhh, I thought Liverpool were playing tomorrow, that's where I went wrong.

Jack I count yours as 20, not 21. Sure I'm wrong though!

Is that your aim?

Clichy started and kept a clean sheet- 6
Toure came on as a sub and kept a clean sheet- 3
Diouf started- 2
Mullins came on as a sub- 1
Torres started and scored- 7
Bent started- 2

6+3+2+1+7+2= 21 ;)

Tis fate. :)

Dean Ashton was certainly the man to have today as he had 12 points (Eleese and Dave had him). Had it not been for the last minute Ricardo Fuller goal, Superyid United would have gained 20 points, as that goal lost Gary Cahill five points- four lost from his clean sheet and one lost for the goal itself. Cahill had an assist today and had it not been for the last minute Fuller goal he would have notched himself nine points which would have been very impressive for a defender.

Ashton is class. Why he's not in the England team I don't know.

'Cause he's been injured forever. Didn't he get a go a while back? Friendly I think.

Agreed, still a young lad, should make it. Much better than Michael Owen.
