Edinburgh

So just got back from the Fringe.

It was my first time and two days wasn't nearly enough. It's bloody wonderful and vibrant and exciting and I saw shit shows and great shows and ate manky burgers and drank waterey lager at the Udderbelly and saw Tim Vine and Mackenzie Crooke and Richard Herring and Jerry Sadowitz and I hardly slept. I went to BBC Comedy Presents and saw Tim Minchin who completely blew me away. And I came up with an idea for my own show next year. Will I do it or was it just the buzz of the moment? Dunno.

What I do know is that now I'm back in the quiet of my pokey office and I desperately want to go back. Anyone else been / going?

I have decided I am going, and as a performer.

Not sure either my stand-up OR JunkMales sketch show will be ready by next year but at some point in the future it WILL happen.

Possibly might be an idea to go as a spectator first though... so definilty going next year... who's with me... Hire a BCG mini-bus?

Sounds interesting.

I think I'd fly up, have a quick day/night up there and fly back refreshed and revitalised (hopefully).

Frankie was clearly the kid who got travel sick on school trips.

It's true! I avoided them at all costs.

Also, it's a bloody long way to Edinburgh in a van.. somebody might start singing!

How about someone (not me) organising a weekend or a few days up there next year?

Not much to tell really. I was gonna go over and tell him how much I enjoyed the podcasts but he was otherwise engaged in conversation with an attractive laydee.

That is true. Me and James Harris went up together and we did break into song a few times. The soundtrack from South Park The Movie I believe. "Shut Your F**king Face Uncle F**ker" was a highlight.

All you need is a cracking idea, a determination to see it through, and the ability to embrace disappointment, bitterness and poverty.

And vomit. There is a lot of vomit involved. Well, there was when I was in a van on the road with our band.

Sames as bands. Learn about an hour of songs. Get a gig. Probably play for free. They throw things, but you don't care. You're on the boards man!!!

Well, we're currently performing our show 'Ladma vs The World' at the Beehive Inn at 6:30 everyday. And it's FREE! (part of the Free Fringe). We're really enjoying it - great atmosphere and loving performing everyday, even if it is tiring.
