It is certainly not as bad as it is made out to be, some fine sitcoms in the 21st century, The IT Crowd being my favourite, but comedy has got worse than the 20th century.

Would tend to agree, the golden age of comedy has passed... for now anyway.
it's because channels don't take risks anymore and they count EVERY penny.
(Except the BBC - they just roll around in it)

The more I learn about Ellies private life, the lower she sinks in my estimation. 
I don't think it has got worse but personally I prefer the 20thC offerings.
