So you'd allow the progression - From A Jack To A King to All Around My Hat ?

:)

So, no.

Hold on there a cotton pickin' moment boy, phut..........ding!

I didn't start the yellow/red card, but I did support it - there are hundreds of tracks, nay thousands to pick from, and along with all the artists going back to the days of music hall, I don't see why you have to resort to part or added on bits of words.

Or is that too hard for some??

And as for "the" or "and", well that's just plain daft to allow that, along with just repeating a band. If two or three people say had a mind too, you could just cite Beatles or Elvis tracks to infinity and beyond!

I did try to raise this about a week ago to give posters a vote on it; but got ZERO, diddly squat, nothing, naught, zilch response , so the best of luck.

Three issues as far as I can see:-
(1) The use of "the" and "and"
(2) Part use or added on use.
(3) Plurals

But PLEASE, don't make too easy - what's the point?

You have to allow the repeat-thing in special cases, for example when one has to reply to things like:

Xerox* - INXS

Otherwise I second everything you say.

* I have just made that one up...so don't search your INXS collection...

(3) Plurals

I'd say:
(1) strictly forbidden...although 'and' could be tolerated in special cases, but 'a' or '&' couldn't be.
(2) try to avoid
(3) dito

Oh, by the way

OK, agree there but that would be unusual

Otherwise I second everything you say. Good

That.Good

I'd say:
(1) strictly forbidden...although 'and' could be tolerated in special cases, but 'a' or '&' couldn't be.Good

(2) try to avoid Avoid period

(3) ditto Avoid period

Oh, by the way

Took you long enough to pick that up! Thought I'd got away with it. :$....Or did you sneak in an extra 'n' while I wasn't looking....... Whistling nnocently

BUT Where do we go from here? (That's not a go by the way :D )

There'll be a lot of sabre rattling and then nothing - no agreement. :(
