Am I the only person who hates the word "skit" ? Page 2

A skit is something a group of Oxbridge students would put on for their chums.

Haha - agreed. I don't like the word.

No that's a skitch my dear.

That would be the main focus of the skit.

A one on one skit.

I'm honestly not bothered either way Griff and there doesn't seem to be any difference between a sketch and a skit in the online dictionary either.

It's interesting that 'skit' is 'sketch' in Dutch, German and Swedish:

When I say interesting...

I agree. Horrible word. Can we have it banned and add it to the forum rules?

You can't have a skit show - there's a difference.

Genius pun, made the whole thread worth while

I found sketch pretensious, like asking a girl to see your etchings. As oposed to your bedroom ceiling.

It's 2 letters shorter than sketch, all that typing saved adds up to maybe a whole new skit a day.

It's the same reason I try and stick to 3 letter names.

As I am the only person who uses the word skit.

Should I take this personally?

What ever next? Banning anyone named after a magical hand puppet with an additional letter?

I suppose it's better than scat.

What? I don't know of anyone who is called Nookie Beard on this forum :P

That is a disgusting but wonderful pun.

I don't know if you are aware of this, but last night there was a repeated of a BBC 7 sketch show called "No Tomatoes", in which the last sketch was about the word "Skit" undergoing surgery to become an adjective.

if post.find("skit") == True:
thread.remove(post)
user.warning += 1

if user.warning > 3:
board.remove(user)

Laughing out loud

No one is seriously suggesting you should be banned for using it. (There are so many much better reasons...;))

Haha!

Robyn, scat means...no I can't do it. Just don't google it with the safe search off.

:( I'm really far too scared to.
