Am I the only person who hates the word "skit" ?

Nothing wrong with skirt though.

:)

Is that the thing with Cleo whatsername and Johnny Dankworth?

Yes, and yes.

No, I feel the same. I always wince when I hear it. Sketch sounds much more artistic.

I like the word ditty.

*raises hand*

You should put this in a skit. It'd be great.

Skirt is fine, skint isn't.

'Skit' is too close to 'squit'.

But then quite apt, considering the contents of the Critique forum.

Otherwise you don't get any skirt, do you Nigel?

Quite correct.

Skit is more something an American would say, surely? I still hear them say it; I think it would be something British people would only have said many years back.

Sooty seems to use the word skit a bit in the skitique, sorry critique forum.

I wrote this ditty
To try and be witty
I first called it a sketch
But to type 6 letters is a wretch
So I changed it to a skit
But Griff said that was shit
So now I'm left with this embarrasing piece of work that doesn't really finish properly >_<

At least you've wrote something now :)

A skit is something a group of Oxbridge students would put on for their chums.
