What ITV are looking for in a sitcom.
What ITV want
It's nice to see that they're doing somehting about their comedy output, in ways it gives us all hope.
Quote: Griff @ July 29 2008, 10:25 AM BSTI thought Moving Wallpaper was terrific last year.
That's interesting. Because it was only broadcast in 2008.
Thunked as much!
It was terrific though. I can't wait for S2. Especially if Raquel Cassidy returns.
Does it involve her being naked a lot?
She's lovely.

Did she play a Labour MP in Party Animals?
I can't remember the last comedy thing I liked on ITV!
I liked 'Shane' the Frank Skinner sitcom, but I'm in the minority with that. I don't think I would have liked it if Skinner hadn't have been it. I met Skinner once, I said "Baddiel, you look terrible".
I liked the first series of The Sketch Show too. That was good. I can't remember the second series of it though.

How did he react to that?
I met Skinner last year and he seemed a bit rude.
He just laughed. I'm not sure if he could hear properly to be honest. It was at an Oasis gig. I probably wouldn't say it to him now, but I was 19 at the time and thought it was funny.
He seemed quite friendly that day, leaning over the VIP fence and shaking hands with everyone.

She's proper gorge.
Quote: Griff @ August 3 2008, 2:14 PM BSTIt hasn't been written yet, it's one of those "in my head" projects which will probably never happen. (See also "Getting a life"). But I suspect that including lots of steamy lesbian sex scenes between the female cast members might just possibly affect my chances of being taken seriously, unless they have radical plans for the show which they haven't announced yet.
Noo! Stay away! Don't spread lesbonic plague!
My point was that sex is fine (if justified in the story etc etc), but no lesbonics!
Quote: Griff @ August 3 2008, 3:16 PM BSTDude, that was my point, anybody sending in gratuitous sex scenes to anything would be automatically banned from the producer's inbox for ever.
Unless it was Shameless.

All sex scenes are gratuitous, they are never needed, but sex sells and all producers know that!
Considering its channel, I think Respectable (which was excellent IMO, and nothing to do with the nekkidness) actually did alright. Although I forget exact viewing figures. The problem was the controversy stirred up by those who hadn't watched it.
Quote: Griff @ August 3 2008, 3:40 PM BSTDoes sex sell sitcoms ? I mean they tried that with Respectable and it bombed (I think ?).
I think sex could sell sitcoms. It sells anything.
