A question about the Red Planet thingy... Page 3

Maybe your script entry is just for the contest, but if they feel that it's good, then, perhaps, maybe, whatever.. ...they end up making it aswell.

It's too vague on their website really.

Incidently...

How many people here have entered the Red Planet comp?

I entered last year too - although it was a one-off screen play.

I'm planning to do this one too. I've done 7 pages so far (out of 10).

Oh, are they going to make it?

I thought the prize was to write on something else...

That was last year though.

Isn't five thousand pounds and agency representation enough ??!!

Yes!

Not if the agent takes 15% of the £5000 :P

No...they wouldn't... would they???

I entered it and I was just glad that I finally got somewhere to send my drama after weeks of contacting agents.

No.

Laughing out loud

I really should start mine. I've got a month I guess. It's just I've got an idea but just trying to figure out how to execute it.

I would rather have my script made than the £5000 and the agency representation.

There's loads of ways to earn £5k and if the screenplay was produced it wouldn't be that difficult to get an agent...?

Well, back to the drawing board for me.

The drama that I was going to submit isn't 1 hour.
I've decided that this particular drama is going to be 45 mins per episode, which gives me more flexibility to pitch.... i.e. I can pitch to the Beeb as a 45 minuter, PLUS I can pitch to commercial stations too, which, with adverts, would make it a 1 hour show.

....Therefore, like I said, now back to the drawing board to think up a 1 hour pilot to enter the contest.

I don't think so!

I'd be happy to win it because if you're good enough and have enough faith in yourself you should be able to get a regular (ish) income from writing.

Okay, maybe I should have said there's loads of ways to GET HOLD OF £5k. Like borrowing...crime, etc :)

Looks like it won't be a Holby Blue Commission.

Shame, it widdled all over The Bill.

Maybe it's best that it wasn't going to be Holby Blue...
...otherwise, we'd have had to start watching it!
