I certainly have been blown!

Well you did ask for it! :)

Some truth in that but have you read the old testament? Scary stuff for non Christians.

:D
Yep, agreed. Even for some Christians I know, the O.T. is a scary place. Maybe, like the modern Koran debates re: sharia, burkas, etc there's a historical context that needs to be applied for modern readers?

For sure. As in this was written a long time ago and has no relevance today. Except the stuff that does which is normally dictated by the zeitgeist anyway and therefore what's the point of getting values from ancient texts if we decide which ones apply to us now.

Does anybody know what the most tragic age to die is? In terms of compensation, someone told me yesterday it was 36. Die at that age and your family stands to make most. Not sure if this is true but dying in your thirties does seem weirdly more tragic than dying as a kid or a teenager, or dying in your forties, fifties or sixties.

This reminds me of that line in the Office where Tim gets the inflatable penis from Dawn and lee for his birthday and he says; "It's just like mine except mine's tiny but it is made of plastic." And Chipol- Gareth says mine isn't and it's massive.
:D

Godot' thought you were talking about 'Kenneth' from 'Peep Show' for a minute!.

Is there a most tragic time to die?

If by terms of compensation you mean insurance payouts, surely that depends on the insurance rather than the age.

Dying at any age can cause extreme distress and sorrow, I can't see how it would be any more or less tragic depending on age.

It obviously depends on the person. But I think the thinking is that at that age you're at the peak of your career and possibly have a young family who'll miss you. It's the age where you've really established yourself yet are still considered young.

How many dead facebook friends do you have, I have two.

One has had her facebook profile removed, the other still has a profile, which people still comment on with tributes on her birthday and anniversary of her death etc.

I have one. It is quite weird when his face pops up. Would feel rather rude to unfriend him though.

The poke that was never returned.

Ok, I see where you are coming from and as you say, it depends on the person.

From stillbirth to old age, any death is probably tragic to someone. I guess it isn't really something we can generalise about.

Interesting though.

Not in the slightest, if I was was on Morbidmessages.com I would understand it, this is supposed to be a f**king comedy site!

Teddy do you never sleep? I mean the grasp of eternal sleep?

Given that your avatar is a comedy cartoon character and that this site is called 'The British Comedy Guide' I was rather hoping for a bit of f**king fun.
Instead all I get half answers and f**king Buddhist phrases!
