Better, more complex and deeper story; no setting up/origin story getting in the way. Plus the bad guys we're far superior to Scarecrow or Ras in the first one.

Maybe.
But Joker is Batman's nemesis so it guranteed he'd be better then Scarecrow. I just felt Dent deserved more time, not a quick wrap up.

Scarecrow could have been great, he was always one I wanted to see in a Batman film, but I didn't think they really did the concept justice in Begins.
Quote: sootyj @ July 27 2008, 10:50 PM BSTDo you think all the knife stuff was a tad irresponsible though?
What? No. People stab each other, so you shouldn't have knives in a movie?

I see what you mean about scarecrow but in that film he was more incidental, then a main villan. Al ghul was the main villian.
I can't see who next now though. Penguin? Catwoman?
Killer, Croc, Bane?
or will they not do another Batman and do Batman vs Superman.

Thats what I mean; Scarecrow should have been front and centre more; what he does could have been terrifying. As for who whos next, I'm not sure; who would fit into the style of world Nolan has created? Croc seems too much like a monster to sit easilly; Penguin too silly. Riddler? Bit lightweight, I'm really not sure who they could use; especially who they could use that people in general might be familiar with.
King Tut? *sniggers* No, I'd like to see The Penguin, although Killer Croc would be cool. Trouble is it would focus too much on CGI, which they're trying to stay away from. How about a film adaptation of Arkham Asylum? Could be a bit messy though. Probably best to stick to one or two villians at the most, we don't want another Batman & Robin do we.
I haven't seen this one yet (roll on Thursday) but I thought they were setting Two-Face up to be the villian for next time.
Please TRY to keep any posts spoiler free so I can come back to this thread. Thanks

A good story arc to do would be Batman having his back broken by Bane like in comics that'd be a really good film coz we seen him win against such odds nice to see him humanised again.

Yeah, I'm just skimming this thread now!
Just in case I decide to see it next weekend. (Instead of the X Files.)

Not said any spoilers I dont think. Sorry if I have, but don't think so.
The X Files has bombed in the States apparently.
As with regards to spoilers, I'm not sure who it was but a feel pages back I was reading something and it started going into what had happened in Batman TDK. Mine was just a general plea for no spoilers

I like Smith himself, but I'm not sure I really like any of his film (that I can think of). I am legend was ok i 'spose.

From what I've read, it's a pretty cheaply made film that feels like one of the lesser TV episodes rather than a movie. Shame, I used to be a HUGE X-Files fan.
