Actually when I saw it a bunch of chavvy kids got kciked out for throwing pop corn, and talking loudly.
Friends of yours?

No I don't think my friends use the same backstreet cinema as you.

I was actually quite proud of myself once, when a group were talking loudly all the way through a film, not watching it and all, and I went over and told them they could either shut up, or they could leave. Of course, they were a group of fourteen year old girls, but still. There were four of them. They could have taken me. But they chose to leave-yay me.
Ooh, and another time, this person was talking all the way through a film, then I thought he'd left, but he'd gone to get an ice cream; I was sat in an isle seat and as he passed I stuck my leg out so he tripped and dropped his ice-cream; tee-hee! Again, he was about thirteen; but I enjoy bullying those smaller and frailer than myself.
Thanks Mathew that was me with the ice cream, I have a wasting disease and am 73 years old.
I'd saved my benefits for 6 months to afford that ice cream.

Shame cos your films are always on in my sleazy flea pit cinema.

Well done Matthew!

It was ridiculously good. I loved it. You can read shit loads of good reviews so I won't dwell on it but MAN it had me enthralled the entire time.
Agreed, and double agreed.
Quote: Matthew Stott @ July 27 2008, 5:19 PM BSTHe was great, but the whole story was actually really deep and grown up-it wasn't just beat up the bad guy. But Ledger was amazing. Cant believe it was a twelve though! I saw six year olds coming in with their parents-that was way too dark and scary for a six year old surely?! And, in fact, I would imagine it would have bored many six year olds to death-it was a grown-ups movie.
Exaaactly what we said, adding the whole clown element too. I was scared the whole time!
Quote: zooo @ July 27 2008, 5:45 PM BSTCos it sounds like 3 hours too long to spend in one seat.
Yeah it's like 2 and a half hours. My bum went to sleep!
I have to say I was a little disappointed with The Dark Knight to be honest. But I do think I need to see it again to give it a definite judgement.
I had a few gripes with it - did those of you that have seen it find the music at the start FAR too loud? I was struggling to hear what people were saying. And the opening scene, with the robbers in the clown masks - it was hard to hear what they were saying and, because of the masks, who was saying it. So I was a bit clueless as to what was going on for the first half hour or so.
It did get better as it went on though. Heath Ledger was incredible as The Joker, a real f**king psycho. The fact that it was Heath's last film added an extra eerie element to it.
I was really annoyed by Batman's voice too. So husky that it was hard to tell what he was saying at times. I'll probably go and see it again though, maybe I'll enjoy it more on second viewing.

That *did* annoy me too, admittedly.
Aaaaaaaagggghhhhhh SPOILERS!!!!!!!!
I thought it was just me who hates going to the cinema because its so bloody loud and difficult to understand what they're saying.

I saw it Saturday and have got to admit - an amazing film. I loved it. So dark and Ledger was seriously incredible. I'm so glad all this build up about his performance wasn't just because he died, he really was fantastic. The pencil scene was so good. I did jump out of my skin a couple of times though.

Hmmm... I didn't have that problem with the music - but I can see how that could ruin it for you.
Do you think all the knife stuff was a tad irresponsible though?
Just saw it.
It's alright.
Ledger was a pretty decent Joker. Overall C+ - B
Ran to long. Should of ended with the Joker.
Oh poo! I just decided to go see it tomorrow night cos everyone's saying how amazing it is. And then you have to go and say that

Like I said it's alright. Probably on par with "Begins"
