The case is still going on I see. I'm fairly open-minded about it - even though he looks like a paedophile!!!!!!!!!

I like this 'research' defence. Any lawyer worth his salt will tell you that as an Actus Reus crime your reason behind posessing the images doesn't matter. You could be Jack Bauer saving the world but you'd still be guilty.
Yep - if you look guilty then you most certainly are!
Good job I look like an Angel!
I thought I'd drag this murky thread back up to point out that Chris Langham is on More4 tonight at 10pm to talk about this whole sordid story.
"A new edition of the psychologically-based interview show in which Dr Pamela Connolly talks to comedian and writer Chris Langham, following his release from jail."
It sounds an awkward watch so I'm going to personally be avoiding it. What I find most worrying is that this thread was started on February 16th last year... here we are just 11 months later and he's supposedly paid for his crimes?!? Anyway we ought not get into discussions like that - this is supposed to be a light-hearted comedy website, but yeah, if you watch it let us know your thoughts on the show (but let's avoid the guilty/not guilty talk - that's past now).
Thanks for the link, Mark.
Don't think I'll be watching this either, just a bit too voyeuristic for my taste.
Kind of funny that his defense counsel was one Mr. Whitehouse, though.
Also funny that one of the posters at the bottom of this article asks the very thought-provoking and very difficult question 'Is Langham the coolest paedo in the UK?'
Hhmm...well he'd definitely make it into my top 10 I think!
I'll be watching it, I don't think there is any harm in seeing what he has to say. As a writer its good to know the troubled mind as well as the inspired one.

I'll be watching, just to find out if he got his computer back?

Well I watched it. Very interesting, and quite enlightening, I thought.
I'm just gutted that there's highly unlikely to be that second series of Help.
Was jolly enlightening.
I still believe everything the flipping man says.
But I'm a fabulous judge of character, so it's all good.
I watched this even though I've never really followed any of Langham's comedic ventures (never really watched 'Thick of it' or 'help')
Langham looks extremely scary and unnerving when he smiles. That said, I think he was pretty genuine in this interview, and I did almost feel a bit sorry for him. That was probably the idea though...
At the end of the day, there's a difference between looking up paedophilic images on the net, and actually committing a paedophilic act. Which he never did (that we know of).
I didn't watch it, though the image of Richard Blackwood sniffing a keyboard comes to mind.

Okay then, let me ask you a hypothetical question: if you went back in time, to before all this began, and Langham offered to babysit for your 2-year-old daughter, would you let him?
It's people like Langham who keep these disgusting website in business. The more of these scumbags that get caught, the safer the world is for our children. Yes, he may have seemed genuine in that interview, but don't forget, the bloke's an actor! He's admitted he needs to get back into work, in order to live and pay his bills. Oh, and that story he came out with about looking at the site because he was doing a story about child abuse on 'Help!', has been proven to be a load of bollocks.
At last someone making a sensible post! Well done catskillz!
Some BSG'ers would believe Hitler if he said the gas ovens were just meant to provide warmth on frosty mornings!
