Kiss Me Kate

I've been watching this series over the past few days, and absolutely love it. Insanely funny, very cleverly written.

It's co-written by and co-stars Chris Langham - now a true comic genius in my eyes.

Can't believe I've never seen the show before. It's excellent.

We don't actually have a guide for it yet, so info is here.

Anyone remember it?

Ah yes, the Amanda Holden nipples episode was great.

Why oh why do all the geniuses have to be paedos? Langham, Glitter, King?

Yeah, I thought Kiss Me Kate was excellent back when it was on. Darren Boyd really cornered the market in office simpletons, I thought.

I'd forgotten about that. Was a little bit shocked to see them myself. :D

Yeah, I think it would have been very easy for that character to become a tired cliché of himself despite the great writing, but Darren really kept it fresh.

Call this a thread, Aaron? And to think, you had the temerity to criticise my "Current radio comedy..." thread which is in rude health.

Yeah! I loved this show. But haven't seen it for ages. Maybe I'll buy it. If the weirdos haven't take it off the shelves for any spurious reasons.

I remember enjoying the show when it was on. I always did think Langham was a comedy genius, at least since seeing him on Smith and Jones.

Langham sort of went into the wilderness after he was sacked from the first series of Not The Nine O'clock News, and despite a few gems along the way, only really came good when Ianucci put him in The Thick Of It. It's a shame there was all that kiddie porn stuff because I'd have really liked to see the show he was working on for ITV.

I dunno, I think he put in some terrific work in People Like Us (both the TV and particularly the radio version).

For radio read wilderness. He also did quite a few other radio bits and bobs, and I once got offered him to do something of mine but I turned him down on the grounds he seemed "too decent" for the thing I'd written.

They were in the good old days when I could actually sell stuff. Teary

Don't think it's actually ever been on DVD! I'd like to see it put out, but think it'll be a while now, unfortunately. :(
