That is doubly tragic, no wonder you were driven to the calm world of sauna installation.
Scariest film or TV programme you ever did see Page 7
Seriously, what age was you when they showed it to you? I have often thought since that I was too young to have watched it and I wouldn't want my children seeing it at all!

It's calmer than you think, as all I do is sit on my sofa and directing other people to where the work is
Quote: JuliaC @ July 17 2008, 2:16 PM BSTI've not seen it on TV but I did see The Woman in Black at the theatre and nearly died of fright! It was great fun though, but utterly terrifying at the same time. It's weird seeing a horror/thriller at the theatre.
I haven't seen it in the theatre, but I always wondered - do they do anything to mess with the audience? I mean, does anyone run through the audience or suddenly jump up and scream, or anything like that?
Quote: sootyj @ July 17 2008, 2:22 PM BSTI hope that doesn't mean I have to sleep with you in a vaguely sinister homo-erotic manner.
PM me and we'll work something out. I'll have you on one side and Ellie on the other.
That is genius, the look on Bert's face when Ernie calls him a Jew mother f**ker.
Joe Pesci was very scary in Goodfellas. Do you think I'm funny?
Good fella's maybe the best film ever made.
Baeutiful, funny, and yes scary (his death was enough to give any one a phobia of garrages).
Do I amuse you?
You're right he does remind me of some one.
Quote: Griff @ July 17 2008, 2:47 PM BSTAnd everyone in Goodfellas, Casino and The Godfather combined aren't as cool as The Sopranos, the best gangsters ever. The scene in the last series when Tony Soprano smashes someone's teeth out by placing the unfortunate's head on the rim of a toilet bowl and then stamping on it was awesome. Especially when he is politely sitting in his therapist's office in the next scene and idly picking bits of bloodied tooth out from the hem of his trousers.
I diasagree about the gangsters, Tony Soprano in particular, being cool. I think the purpose of the show was to highlight what a thoroughly unpleasant man Tony Soprano ultimately was, caring for little except money.
I'd say the Sopranos was exactly as good as Goodfellas.
Same subject different angles.
Perosnally my favourite Tony moment was when he curb stomped Coco, or the scene when Phil threatened to kill's Tonys mistress in her beemer.
That said the bit in Goodfellas when the corpses are found to that Clapton instrumental is very cool.
Quote: Griff @ July 17 2008, 2:56 PM BSTWell I don't think they were cool in a "I wish they were my friends" way. They are clearly deeply unpleasant. But they were compelling to watch, and sometimes terrifying, and sometimes hilarious, and probably the best TV drama ever made.
After Day of the Triffids.
Quote: Griff @ July 17 2008, 2:56 PM BSTWell I don't think they were cool in a "I wish they were my friends" way, just in a "cool to watch safe in the knowledge it isn't real" kind of way. They are clearly deeply unpleasant. But they were compelling to watch, and sometimes terrifying, and sometimes hilarious, and probably the best TV drama ever made.
Wire's pretty good, but I prefer Sopranos.
Paulie and Chrissie are hilarious and utterly menacing at the same time.
And Leotardi is the stuff of nightmares.
Hooray for Day of the Triffids, wow a thread where i'M agreeing with every one siumultaneously.
Back on topic, the episode of Doctor Who, The Brain of Morbius, gave me the willies when I was a young boy.
Big Pussy.
Didn't the evil scientist give Morbius a willy?
Let him have it, was actually quite scary.
Quote: Griff @ July 17 2008, 3:05 PM BSTPoor old Pussy's final boat ride was quite alarming.
Morbius was excellent but let down by the Sisters Of Karn who were just plain silly.
Let Him Have It was just depressing. I don't want to be hanged.
Under the circumstances thats quite unlikely
