The Boogieman

Double sweet.

Actually Robocop really scared me as a kid.
That bit there the robot thing goes mad in the office and kills everyone. Yikes.

Oh and The Changeling was damn creepy too, not gory, just terrifying.

And who remembers Armchair Thriller? Showing my age now.

It's time they nailed your coffin lid down. That was The Exorcist :D

Just testing!

That was the one with Billie Whitelaw wasn't it. Wonderful cheekbones!

Bloody hell Google's crashed. Now that IS scary!

My parents thought it'd be a good idea to go and watch a video round my Uncle Patrick's house. It was something like the early 80s and he was the first one in the family to get a vcr. (A Ferguson Videostar I believe. A toploader)

Anyway, I was about 10 or 11 and the film he'd hired was called Zombie Flesh Eaters and I didn't sleep for days. It really was extremely graphic and to this day zombie movies shit me up something wicked. I'll never forget one scene where this woman was hiding in a cupboard and a zombie's hand came crashing though the wood, grabbed her hair, and very slowly pulled her face towards a piece of splintered wood. The wood got closer and closer to her eye as she screamed, and then there was this huge close-up of the wood spike slowly being pushed into her eye as blood and vitreous humour squirted out.

So yeah, thanks for that Mum and Dad.

I watched the exact same video when I was about nine. My dad used to rent horrors from a mobile video guy who came to our house with a converted ambulance full of pirate VHS. He'd try to hide them on top of a cabinet but I was tall enough to reach even at that age. I remember the bit you're talking about. I recall it as a shower scene though (she was naked, I'm sure of that much), and I also remember a zombie fighting a shark at one point.

Ah, ED-209. Now THAT'S a robot. Robocop was a pussy compared to Ed.
"Put down your weapon. You have ten seconds to comply"

Robocop trivia - when ED-209 lurched forwards threateningly, the sound guy put a lion's roar in in the edit to make it sound scarier. It's true! A robot with a lion's roar! Cool and the gang or what?

You know the author? Ace!

Tell him he owes me several pairs of pants.

I wonder how long it'll be before someone nominates a film I've seen?

(zooo mentioned Worzel Gummidge, so that's TV already.)

Yeh but stairs were a bit of a problem.

I suppose it could level the building if need be.

RoboCop2 was very scary.

The Avengers when they go to that village and they all hate outsiders and kill everyone.

Oh - that was every week I think.

If you watch such shit, you deserve to die. (Am I being too harsh? I think not)

Hey! It was scary when I was little. Before it became obvious it was a hoax thing. Especially as while I was watching it my sisters boyfriend was hidden just out of view in the doorway, flicking things across the room with an elastic band to shit me up. Bastard.

Okay, first off Robocop is the baddest mutha on the block and second of all it's "twenty seconds to comply". Don't you remember the Silver Bullet song?

I met Bill when I was working in a video store in Brighton. I caught up with him again when I was living in LA a few years back. He's in London now so we catch up from time to time. Funny enough, to tie it all together, I seem to remember he did some work on the Robocop TV show.

How old is he?
