Hugh Lloyd RIP

Sorry to hear about the death of the great sitcom actor Hugh Lloyd. A great regular in the Hancock's Half Hour series, being in loads of episodes, most famously as the wine gum pincher in the Blood Donor. Also starred with Terry Scott in loads of series of the Laurel and Hardy style sitcom Hugh and I He also had a semi-regular role as Sir Ralph's butler in Perry & Croft's You Rang M'Lord. He lived to a good age of 85.

Sad news.

(

Aye, sad indeed. Although when I read it, I was surprised that he was still alive. Would have been thrilling to have been able to meet him.

RIP.

Snap, I thought he was dead to. Unaware he had appeared in My Family.

Blimey, yes, so he did! I hadn't realised that was him until now. Cripes.

I loved him as Sir Ralph's drunk butler in you rang M'lord.

Absolute genius.

Criminal vandalism from the BBC.

I used to watch him in "Bootsie & Snudge" as a kid and also "Hugh and I" ... great stuff!

I remember him well from Hugh and I and Gnomes of Dulwich.

Sad to hear but as you say a good age.

19's a good age when it comes to young trollops, eh what Dave?

Mind Hugh, I prefer the more mature 22 year olds most days.

Oh good evening dear.. let me just log off this silly site.. :$

One of the familiar faces from the 60s and 70s. Never a great but often there as supporting straight man... the kind of institution which seems to be no longer with us and which I miss.

RIP indeed.
