I never saw Ponderland - was it the same premise.

I think Medinner influenced TV Burp, but Burp put a whole new spin on it.

I saw them both, they weren't a lot alike to be honest.

And so what if Russell did base his show on it? The other bloke wasn't exactly doing a lot with the premise. Ten years after he was last on TV...

I remember watching this on the Paramount Channel in about 1998.

I still remember SMith and Jones history of the world, rather good.

I haven't watched any of the clips yet, but I do remember watching the hooligan episode, when it was originally shown. The clips were all taken from a 1977 episode of Panorama, narrated by that old BBC journalist who died last week. The hooligans in question were Millwall's infamous F-Troop, who were led by a bloke called Harry "The Dog". I've seen the full episode. The funniest bit was probably when they filmed the biggest, toughest member of the "Firm", at his day job, working in a playschool!

Actually, I've just watched the hooligan clip, and it's a different episode to the one I was thinking of.
