British Comedy Guide

Question...

Is there a web site where I can source (professional*) aspiring comedy actors to perform my material? They won't be paid but they'll be fed and watered and the material will be something they'd be proud to take part in and it will be well produced.

*Good time keeping and a willingness to do as they're told because it's my script.

Thanks

Try London Comedy Writers, it's a great place to meet actors looking for work

I went. I saw. And they turned out to be a bunch of the most unfriendly, cliquey people I've ever met. Sorry but that was my first impression and I don't usually go back for seconds if I don't like.

:(

I was there, I must have missed you I was the guy who had the short skit read.

I was there too. I was the guy who had the short red skirt.

3 drinks and no telephone number? you're an incorigable tease

Search for comedy performers has been successful so thanks.

Where did you find them in the end?

Through an actor friend. Silly really as I should have thought of that in the first place but I figured this would be an obvious place to look.

Production will start in september and when the sketches are finished I'll stick 'em up on my Youtube account for yous to see and no doubt critique. I just think that the best way to 'get out there' is to produce stuff myself and send them off to prodcos on DVDS, no?

Anyhoo thanks. :)

Absolutely the best way, there seems to be quite a few groups willing to look at sutff.

Yep. The only way forward, IMO is for (probably very bored) prodcos to see it as opposed to reading it.

Aye, show don't tell. :D

That's what I'm trying to do too but am struggling with the actors side too. Is there someone you can point me to?

Good luck with it, I agree its the best way forward.
