U Pillock

GORDON BROWN IS TALKING TO ALISTAIR DARLING

ALISTAIR

So did the Unions do the right thing, did they pay off the Labour Parties debts?

GORDON

Alistair, yes they did. They did demand one public sector union go on strike, and protest against the gouvernment.

ALISTAIR

That's not so bad, which one?

GORDON

The Union of Primeministers Imminently Leaving Offices, and Chancellors.

ALISTAIR

Oh U Pillock. Boo down with us, we're rubbish. How long have we got to do this for?

GORDON

Just till David Cameron's elected. Boo Gordon, Gordon Brown get out of town.

Is the Unions having Labour over a barrel an old story?

Do you think the media/public believe that GB is stupid? He is portrayed as a lot of things but generally stupid isn't one of them.

I would try to remember that when writing your sketches, satire works best (or only works IMO) when the target's character is still identifiable within the skit.

Stupid no, incompetent yes, absolutely he is seen as incompetent bungling, and out of touch.

The Iron Chancellor of yore is very much dead and buried.

Even the Guardian is giving him a beating.

Good we agree entirely. In which case the title and content of this skit would be leaning too far towards the stupid rather than incompetent IMO, do you not agree?

Oh that, I like puns and abbreviations.

U Pillock was the best I could come up with, also I always pillocks more like a foolish or naiv person rather than a stupid one.

e.g. Stephen Hawkins you forgot to charge your battery, and now your voice box is out of juice so you can't give a lecture, you pillock.

hmm

Priminesters Inneed of Short Stay of OFFice and Chancellors UnderTaking New Tax hike.

It's a bit of a stretch, but their union becomes PISS OFF CUNT
