Sitcom - appraisal welcome Page 7

Hello, now that things have calmed down and the rumoured trolls have vanished, I will put up another scene. Feedback, as always, welcome....

INT. JOKE SHOP – NIGHT

MULDOON is playing on a Pac Man arcade machine.

MULDOON:

Wacca Wacca you ghost c**ts!

SKIMMER enters.

MULDOON:

Wacca Wacca! Not on my clock. Yes, that's it - run for your lives you ghostly apparitions!

SKIMMER:

Slow down, you’re moving too fast. You’re letting the ghosts dictate your movements.

MULDOON:

And you care why exactly?

SKIMMER takes a moment and looks around the shop. The Simon Cowell cut-out has been decapitated.

SKIMMER:

That’ll be coming out of your wages.

MULDOON:

Oh yeah, and how are you going to do that if I insist you pay me in sandwiches this week?

SKIMMER:

They’ll be smaller sandwiches.

MULDOON:

But I haven’t specified what size slanger I want, so no matter how small you make the sandwich, you wont ever know if I wanted it that size anyway you daft cock.

SKIMMER:

Maybe I’ll…oh for God’s sake, this is daft in extremis! Is this because I went out for luncheon with Melanie?

MULDOON:

Who, the fart-perv?

SKIMMER:

Yes, I mean – no. I mean, yes I did go for lunch with her and that is to whom I am referring now.

MULDOON:

Mouthful! Jokes on you there mate. And she’s not even that fit.

SKIMMER:

You want a hug?

MULDOON:

Yes please.

MULDOON AND SKIMMER hug. MULDOON places a sticker on SKIMMER’s back that reads ‘Proper Shit at Pacman!’

CUT TO:

Oh, just to add - this scene is in it's full version - I haven't kept anything back. I had a note from a producer saying that Muldoon and Skimmer have a touching relationship at this point. Good news? I'm not sure I want it to go down that route - I like the Seinfeld 'no learning' mantra. Anyway - thoughts appreciated....

I lvoe the pacman reference, it makes it feel really fresh.

Okay, this is awkward...I really didn't like that. I don't think you're using the swears right, and I'm not sure it's going in the right direction - content wise - either. Maybe for another project, but for this - I'm afraid I'll have to pass.

Think you are being a bit harsh Dave. I enjoyed this and as one of the few people who seemed to enjoy your sitcom (mainly because the rest are c**ts) i could easily see morcasezs cript fitting my voice of TJOY. I am pretty uisre he doesnt end each scnee with the catchphase which was one of my most favourite parts of your script. But Lenny Henry is a c**t, even though he's black.

Sebastian, David, Morrace,

I know it's only Wikipedia, but I thought this'd be a good starting point for you seeking help:

It's been covered and established that I, david moreton, am posting under only one name. fact.

Could be a good theme tune, nice 80s feel.

This thread is making my head hurt.

Well I find it extremely amusing.

The banter that is.

The original post I find lacking in humour and direction.

I must say I find it hard to believe that it has had any positive feedback from one producer/production companty never mind two.

But that's only my opinion and of course the questionable quality of some programmes that have been commissioned over the years does, I suppose, prove that it could be possible.

If it's true then good luck.

Thanks for your honest feedback garyd - it is appreciated. I am going to try and see if I can put up more of the Ep, possibly with the scenes already posted. I think this would help people get a better feel for it.

The producer that is keen on the show does know me personally, and already has a strong grasp of thew visual appeal of the show - I think this goes a long way towards the interest. I'd reccommend people get in contact (of any kind) with producers - it really helps.

Viral marketing insert: TJOY!

Perhaps I'm missing the point of the Critique forum but something just seems out of place here.

On the first page of this board there are four sitcom extracts put up for feedback. Currently; Afinkawan's radio script has 6 replies, glaikit's Bunker sitcom has 11 replies, KJSmyling's Seat in all Parts sitcom has 7 replies and Graham Bandage's Sunday Sunday sitcom has 14 replies.

These are four people who have put up their work to get genuine feedback.

Then we have 'The Jokes on You', which is a complete wind up and yet it has so far got 103 replies.

Am I the only one who see's this as odd?

Def.

And you don't even mention mine!

It's the old tabloid game, of what evers the story that sells.

Wind up or not, it's still a script so people can still comment on it. And most of the replies aren't critiquing the excerpts posted anyway.

Does any one else think that this David Moreton character is nothing more than a satire of certain BSG members?
