INT. Prison visit. RONNIE BIGGS sitting at table.
SOLICITOR enters and sits opposite.
SOLICITOR
Right, Mr Biggs. It seems there's been a terrible mix-up.
BIGGS
I'll say. I was supposed to be released in 2009. Here we are in 2012 ...
VOICE (off stage)
Look, Margaret, here comes the Olympic torch.
BIGGS
... and I'm still in chokey. I'm a sick old man. I've lived a blameless life, well apart from that train robbery. (beat) And coshing that guard. (beat) And absconding to Brazil for 30 years. What the bleedin' 'ell's happened?
SOLICITOR
Well, Ronnie, your case WAS sent to the Parole Board back in 2008 ...
BIGGS
Yes . . .
SOLICITOR
. . . But the papers were on a mail train, which was robbed, so they never arrived.
BIGGS
(pause) Bastards! Scum! Lock 'em up and throw away the key!
END.
