Radio Scripting Question

I've decided to have a go at writing some radio sketches. I've wrote my first one today, but have a quick question.

One of the characters is a cockney-gangster-loanshark person and I want to establish in the script that his role needs to be spoken like this.

His first line of dialogue hints at his role, but I obviously don't want to use exposition with a line of "I'm a cockney-gangster loanshark and I want my money".

Should I add a character description with the script? Or just set out his first line of dialogue like this:

Man: (STRONG COCKNEY ACCENT) Blah blah blah

Thanks!

Yes. Like that. Or just call him COCKNEY MAN.

If you put Cockerney you get a sense of the elbows as well.
