Who was the greatest Dr of them all? Page 3

My top 3 Dr's

Tom Baker
Jon Pertwee
Patrick Troughton

Exactly this in exactly the same order.

That's it now, the rest of the thread will be sooty coming up with new Raj Persaud puns.

David Tennant
Peter Davison

Quite liked creepy old Colin Baker too.

Who the f**k is Raj Persaud?

Undoubtedly Dirk Bogarde.

He's a nice TV doctor who is always on daytime TV, and recently admitted to plagiarism.

Ah, ok. I thought you were talking about one of them token ethnics back in ye oldee TV.

Who were normally a white guy with boot polish on his face.

Ah, but the blacked-up whities were generally those born in India/Asia, playing main roles (see Michael Bates in It Ain't Half Hot Mum, Spike Milligan in Curry & Chips etc). One-off or irregular characters (the token types to which I refer) were generally played by character actors who actually were black/brown/grey/whatever. The Sikhs in the Only Fools and Horses episode Cash and Curry spring to mind, as does the tax inspector from the episode I forget of Open All Hours.

David Tennant

What? Zooo? Tennant?

*Literally rocks back in amazement*

My favourite fictional Doctor is Dr Spaceman from 30 Rock. Favourite Doctor Who is Tom Baker. This one's okay, but I've always thought Tennant looks a bit like a stoat, has a pipecleaner body, and his Adam's Apple is way to prominent. :)

I should have said Sylvester McCoy, just to f**k with you.

I liked McCoy. Don't knock the McCoy.

I stopped watching it after Adric died and only picked it up again in McCoy's last season. He was a funny, weird little man and a decent Doctor.

I watched McCoy too.
Never really liked him, but I kept watching...

The McCoy episodes are actually better than most people remember. I watched them all recently, and his 2nd and 3rd series were actually quite good. Though they would have been better than that if the scripts & directors had played to his strengths.
