Old Woman Sketch

This is a rewrite of one of the first sketches I wrote. It's one of my twisted ones - I don't really write in this style anymore, but it was fun updating it.

Int. Bedroom

Gladys, 80, is sat in bed in her dressing gown. In walks Ian, 21, with a tray of food.

Ian: Tea's up, Grandma!

Gladys: I don't think I can eat it. Because of the...

Ian: The illness?

Gladys: The tablets aren't working anymore.

Ian: I see.

Ian sits down on the bed. He starts to weep.

Ian: If there's anything you need, just ask.

Gladys: There was one thing.

Ian: Yes?

Gladys: Make me feel like a woman.

Ian: What?

Gladys: I haven't been with a man since 1957.

Ian: You want me to...?! No!

Gladys: But you said anything.

Ian: Well not that!

Gladys starts coughing.

Gladys: Just get your trousers off, please!

Ian: It's not right!

Gladys doubles over in pain and coughs violently.

Gladys: I haven't got long left.

Ian: Oh God!

Ian reluctantly stands up and unzips his flies. Gladys' hand moves towards his crotch.

Ian: I can't do it!

Ian grabs hold of Gladys' head and pulls the hair off. Blonde hair is revealed. He pulls Glady's face, which is a latex mask, off to reveal the face of a young woman.

Ian: I don't want to role play anymore!

Gladys: But it was your idea.

Ian: Just get changed.

Gladys tuts and gets out of bed and goes over to a wardrobe.

Ian: Wait a minute.

Gladys: What?

Ian: Keep the colostomy bag on.

ENDS

Nice! Really like this, minor suggestion, would the last line be improved by

Ian: Go on then (beat) but keep the colostomy bag on.

Just a thought, I'm probably wrong.

Much as I like the turn in this, I would drop this last part:

Quote: Winterlight @ June 19 2008, 2:46 PM BST

Gladys: But it was your idea.

Ian: Just get changed.

Gladys tuts and gets out of bed and goes over to a wardrobe.

Ian: Wait a minute.

Gladys: What?

Ian: Keep the colostomy bag on.

ENDS

Having Ian running from the room screaming "I don't like this roleplay" is a funny enough ending.
