And the only reason that Rebecca never did is that the actress who played her is a Scientologist and Scientologists believe that psychiatry is evil.

That never occurred to me. She was mentioned by Sam though.

SAM: Rebecca's back at the bar.
FRASIER: Oh, you gave her her old job back?
SAM: No. She's just back at the bar.

Did anyone mention Phoenix Nights -> Max & Paddy ?

I know Max and Paddy gets an awful lot of stick, especially on these boards, but I never really minded it that much.

And back on the American front, didn't Happy Days give birth to both Mork and Mindy and Laverne and Shirly?

Also, The Cosby Show gave rise to A Different World, starring the gorgeous Lisa Bonnet.

And Mother Makes Three spwaned And Mother Makes Five but only because the circumstances changed so they had to change the title!

The Army Game -> Bootsie and Snudge

Holding the Fort -> Relative Strangers

Dear Mother Love Albert -> Albert (more a change of title though)

Garth Merenghi's Darkplace - Man to Man with Dean learner (not strictly a sitcom, or even that good, but still an offshoot).

Love it!

Fall & Rise of Reginald Perrin -> Fairly Secret Army (only because David Nobbs based the character of Harry on Jimmy though - so a link but not a sequel)

The Squirrels -> Fiddlers Three (strictly-speaking a remake)

Last of the Summer Wine - First of the Wine (obviously a prequel)

Fresh Fields -> French Fields

Marion and Geoff - The Keith Barrett Show. Again, not a sitcom, but a definite offshoot.

Wasn't there a show that featured Marion and Geoff? Or was that a one off?

Here's Harry->Harry Worth->all other Harry Worth comedies but on the basis that he played the same character in all of them

Up the Elephant & Round the Castle -> Home James

Kindly Leave the Kerb -> The Incredible Mr Tanner (character reworking)

Hale and Pace -> The Management

Yeah there was a prequel called A Small Summer Party in 2001.

It starred the gorgeous Tracy Anne Oberman as Marion and Steve Coogan as Geoff, although you never saw either of them fully.

Another spinoff: Desmonds - Porkpie

Oh No It's Selwyn Forggitt -> Selwyn

Our Man from St Marks->Our Man at St Marks (change of actor & character same location)

Coronation Street -> Pardon the Expression -> Turn Out the Lights

The Dickie Henderson Show -> A Present for Dickie

Adrian Mole Secret Diary -> Growing Pains -> Cappucino Years

Tripper's Day -> Slinger's Day
