How much do you spend on comedy? Page 2

Give us a list of what you got and we'll decide if you need help!

Well to be fair, all but 2 or 3 of the DVDs I bought two copies of, at uber-cheap prices, in order to sell on later. That's still about £100 on DVDs for myself though.

The third £100 was on Carry On 50th anniversary stamps, which have been released today.

Plus one of them Tube books.

Lots of things with Frankie Howerd in I'm guessing.

Don't think that there was anything with him in actually!

Don't worry Aaron, if you can afford it, have what you want. At least you're not wasting it on drink, drugs, fast cars etc. Mind you, I'm the same, when I buy a dvd box set I always feel a bit guilty, even when I buy them on special offer.

All true. Very true. And agreed.

Wow. You are hardcore.

I'll read "hardcore" as "sad".

See, now I'm worrying that I should have bought two lots of the stamp stuff, 'cos they'll probably be worth something one day, and I can sell them!

>_<

No! :O

The first lot is to stare at, and sigh.

Yep, something like that.

About £30 a year on the odd DVD. It would be lots more if it wasn't for my friend Mr. Download.

I just placed a £60 order from amazon.co.uk.

I was amazed to see that this is the first order from them this year. In 2007 I ordered almost every month... I order only sitcom DVDs (and ocassionial music DVDs) from them, a £30 to 40 order each time.

Not a lot but I did buy Catch 22 and MASH (The film) which cost £20 which I thought wasn't too bad.

When I first saw this I thought not much, but, on second thoughts, most of the money I spend is on comedy! I often buy a bulk lot of DVDs and try to go to as many stand ups as possible locally. I also sometimes travel a little to see some comedians and recently lost £45 on tickets to see Tim Vine that I was unable to use or sell :(

I have also just booked to see some stand ups in Edinburgh which, despite being something amazing to look forward to, no doubt it'll be a costly few days! I've got tickets for Alun Cochrane, Stewart Lee, Jason Byrne, Kerry Godliman, Stephen K Amos, Justin Moorhouse, Russell Howard and Daniel Kitson! :D

Ooooh-just typing that makes me unbearably excited! I absolutely cannot wait!

Q!

He is a good friend isn't he? And nice to see Uncle Demonoid has made a full recovery. Angelic

We must have spent a couple of grand making the videos we did. As for paying out to watch other peoples comedy, it's been pence!

But his suppliers have become less reliable and consistent.
