Do it!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not getting away from it all Page 18
Why though?
Tut!
*rolls eyes. Mutters something about youth being wasted on the young. Remembers that bit in Dead Poets Society when Robin Williams shows the pupils the photographs of dead pupils and says they're whispering 'Seize the day'*

Because you're intelligent enough to go for it and will kick yourself if you don't?
First part's certainly not true! I dunno that I'd kick myself, it's kind of appyling there for applying's sake.

Blatantly true. Blatantly totally true. And you have the grades.
If you don't want to go that's cool. Don't rule it out because you don't have a realistic self-image though. You're definitely clever enough. But that means you're clever enough for any Uni, so go where you want to go.
If you have a chance of getting in, you really should at least try.
I have several friends who were good enough, but didn't apply for whatever reason and still regret it now. They are the best universities. (Although there are lots of other great ones of course.)

That too! Of course.
I don't know where I want to go, or even definitely what I want to study! It's going to be a very fun few months of trying to decide. I got a jolly little piece of paper with my Exexcel code on today. Yay.
It will be fun though!
I used to love getting prospectuses through the post. I ordered them about 3 years in a row before I was even old enough to be applying.
Unis keep sending me leaflets trying to get me to go there. Today it was Manchester.
Quote: Scatterbrained Floozy @ June 12 2008, 3:28 PM BSTI've actually done that. My mum disapproved and took them away from me; like they were toys, and I was three, and so cared.
Quote: PhQnix @ June 12 2008, 3:42 PM BSTYour Dad's going with you? I don't mean to offend but: Why?
Because the lady loves Milk Tray.

If I could redo my life, that's what I'd wanna do.
After hearing various tales of rituals and draconian rules which they have, I wouldn't!

I was in that proverbial boat when I was your age (God, that sounds so old-man-story). No idea what I wanted to study, and apart from greatly preferring London/south-east, no idea where. In the end, totally by chance, a prospectus arrived in the post one day and a few specific courses jumped at me.
Not that my entirely-by-chance story will be of any help to you of course, but there you go anyway.

LOL.
If only Oxbridge was just about grades.
If only Oxbridge was ABOUT grades.
Hmm, are you any good at rowing, Scats?

You have no idea how to give advice to the young Zooo. If I had my life over again I would have won 10 million pounds on a lottery draw. See, that's proper advice.
