The Holland/France game was unbelievable.
I thought Italy and France would qualify comfortably from that group but I wouldn't be too suprised if they both went out now.

When I said I'd heard Van Nistelroy had scored 2, what I meant was I caught a snippet of an interview he did after the game, and, struggling to hear over a hubub of voices, I thought I heard the interviewer say something about him getting 2 goals, just before someone changed the channel. Anyway, I'm glad he didn't score.

This is a mad tournament, as far as predicting who is going to win it is concerned. Obviously, Holland have been the most imressive, but I just know they're going to eithr let themselves down, or be really unlucky. I think I'm goingto go for Portugal to win the trophy, with Ronaldo scoring in the final.
Talk about safe bet! I'm going for the Swiss. They're already knocked out but a freak war between all the rest of the countries leads to the tournament being abandoned and after a tactical nuclear strike by Greece Europe descends into madness so buying up all the cuckoo clocks making the Swiss even more immensely rich and able to declare themselves European Champions by default. Realistic I think. Ladbrokes have given me odds of 2/1. So they must think there's a chance.

I thought that was the case, but I didn't want to trip myself up and look stupid. 
I think it is predictable because the Dutch and Portuguese are playing the best football and Spain are strong. Germany lost to Croatia before.
France are past it, Italy think they are better than they are (remind you of anyone?) and Switzerland, Austria and Greece are as crap as I expected.
Why didn't I put a bet on?
Ah David but these strong starters in competitions always come unstuck - Spain were very poor against Sweden. If they play like that in the knockouts they could easily go out.
