I'm not a fan of reality shows. Perhaps you could argue that the original ideas for observing behaviour was ok but it long ago got so out of hand that many have become over the top jokes in themselves. So I was thinking, why not come up with something that is so un pc and 'wrong' that ratings will sky rocket? So here is my 'controversial' idea:
Broadmoor : Are You Tough Enough?
Take 12 members of the public who have never been in trouble with the law before and put them inside Broadmoor Maximum Security Hospital. Only the governor and a head guard would be in on it.
Our brave 12 then see how long they can survive in this notorious institution while watching their backs for other inmates and the screws. They will be required to keep video diaries of each day and they must give the target audience full details of all the threats, injuries and beatings that they get. They can even be given tasks to complete, such as brewing a secret stash of hooch or staging a roof top protest.
Each contestant is free to leave at any point and all they need to do is ask to see the governor and utter the words, "I have not been offically Sectioned under the Mental Health Act - Get me out of here!"
The winner is the person who can last the longest in Broadmoor and perhaps they can get a badge or a certificate or something.
What do you think? is this a ratings winner waiting to happen, or should I just go and take my pills like a good boy?
