Indiana Jones spoof

This is something that has just come to me and might be a little unpolished but I'd like to know your opinion on how it stands. It is meant to be visual funny and the writing of it kinda kills the momentum a little but try and imagine it on tele

INDIANA JONES SPOOF

INT: A BUNKER

Indiana Jones lookalike is hiding in a bunker with his black sidekick who is dressed in a red jumper and jeans

RITCHIE
Its no good man, theres are two hundreds Nazi’s out there!

JONES LOOK ALIKE
Only 200, ha! Come on Rirchie we can make it out of here and kick some ass on the way

RITCHIE
Are you crazy dude! We’re gonna get our balls blasted off the second we walk out of here

JONES LOOK ALIKE
Come on kid, I do this all the time

Indiana Jones music plays

The Indiana Jones lookalike gives his side kick a pat on the back and runs out of the bunker and in front of hundreds of soldiers who all turn around and point their machine guns at him

Indiana Jones lookalike gives the Nazi’s a smug grin

The Nazi’s open fire on Jones. He is stood literally two foot in front of two hundred soldiers who are firing at him feebly jumping side to side as if dodging their gun fire. As typical of most Hollywood action movies, none of the bad guys seem able to shoot the hero no matter how easy he is to shoot.

Indiana Jones lookalike eventually stops dodging the enemy bullets and pulls out his whip. He cracks it sides ways at the Nazi’s and knocks the entire army over.

Indiana Jones lookalike begins running towards a plane nearby and jumps in

JONES LOOK ALIKE
Hey kid…………come on

Ritchie has a big impressed smile on his face. He looks out and see’s another big wave of soldiers heading towards them but following Jones lead he runs out and finds himself stood face to face with the army, just as Jones was a moment earlier.

Richie gives the Nazi’s a smug grin

He starts feebly jumping side to side so that he can dodge the enemies fire

A single shot fires and Ritchie falls down dead.

Do you have to know the Indy films to get it? Is the Indy look-a-like relevant to the joke or are you just aiming your casting hopes low?

I'm imagining someone dressed up in the Indiana Jones style gear, the leather jacket, beige shirt, whip and also the music too. However the idea could fit just as well to the character being a James Bond lookalike.

I got the idea cos I was watching the new Indiana film and there are scenes where they are shooting right a him, no way you could miss but being a Hollywood film, of course they do and that is what this sketch is based on

Lol yeah, the last one I saw this in was Rambo 4.

Yeah, it could easily be Rambo, basically its a stab at all those Hollywood action heroes. So having established that.....could it be funny?

While i see your idea I'm not sure Indy is a good source for the parody - your opening dialogue is very "un-indy" with kick some ass and balls blasted off not very typical of 1940's banter!

Also Indy is not a very good example of the joke as he is normally caught by the baddies not dodging their bullets (if it weren't for God and Aliens he's be toast)

Pick a better movie and you may have something.

PS - your line midway that tells us your concerns over hollywood's treatment of this genre in a little heavy handed....people will either get the gag or not!

edited to add - Rambo would work, saw it last night and it IS your gag! (it also kicks Indian Jones 4 right in the crystal skull)

Yeah sorry, lol.

I think it would pass as an OK joke, something I'd imagine Alistair Macgowan doing for his type of audience, sorry if that's insulting.

Or I see it more as a clip from The Simpsons or Family Guy if they're watching the TV and this comes on.

I believe there's always room for improvement in sketches. You just have to find an original twist on it. I don't think this is it.

I think it would probably work with Rambo better

Patrick- The midway sentense is a note to the reader, I imagine this as a filmed sketch so visually it would hopefully explain itself, like you say people are either gonna get it or not-

I think it's a good simple idea, that could be simpler still.

Liked that he's got a Redhsirt, deliberate Star Trek reference?

Yes the fact that he is black, a sidekick and has a redshirt are all 'cookies' references

How about he's about to retire, his daughters going to get married, and he's shagged James Bond in the first half of the film.

I agree with this 100%. Choose a different movie to parody and don't be so heavy handed in your description and there's a decent sketch in there somewhere.
