Semaphor anyone?
Quote: Timbo @ May 29 2008, 1:43 PM BSTShould be possible to establish that it is in the past with some visual cues, but as the gags include a wind-up gramaphone (which I think is funny), it seems no particular era is intended.
The easy way to do this is not to fuss about exactly which props are used (!). Just film/record it all in sepia monochrome.
...
(!) except I think it definately ought to be set in a Routemaster type bus.
Very Good sketch. Well done Matey!
Quote: Afinkawan @ May 30 2008, 12:16 PM BSTI disagree. I think the variety of old technologies just makes it funnier. The gag is that kids on the bus are being annoying in a thoroughly modern way, but before the technology was invented. The whole joke is about anachronism.
The anachronism aspect doesn't work as well for me, if it's set in lots of different times. And I think it's about a lot more than just anchronistic references.
