i leaning toward comedy films. the main production companies don't want to know unless ure in the comedy click already, even though their stuff may be shite. there is nothing worse than sending your material to the companys behind LITTLE MISS JOCELYN and TITTYBANG BANG and being told it is not funny.

Well work hard and get onto the inside. It's possible.

And the key to not getting told your material is shite, is by not writing shite matieral.

Also it's not about being the funniest, it's about commercial viability.

Of course you can't really sell something you don't believe in.

But ITV is unlikely to do a sitcom on Paedophiles, or a sketch comedy show based on Sartre.

If My Family is watched by 9 million there's a reason for it.

You've got to look at the slots, and ask can I fill that slot?

i'm waiting on the bbc at the moment for a film script i sent them. this is one of the 2 companies i have found willing to read it. how many should i send off at a time?

i know my material is not shit. as do we all i expect. but when crap like i mentioned is on tv it makes u wonder who the hell is commisioning it. if that was spelt right

Different companies? As many as you can. In the unlikely case that two want it at the same time, you can always send one a nice letter withdrawing it.

The BBC will only read one script at a time.

Send off to as many people as you can, I would say. If you send off to only a few at a time it might take them months to get back to you; which means if you sent off to only one or two at a time it could take you years to get around them all. If youre happy with the script, send it to as many people as possible.

Don't ask who comissions, ask who watches it.

It's the audience that's the real problem.

so in the unlikely scenario that two production companies wanted it, what happens to make you decide. they offer money , or whoever talks the talk you want to hear?

Personally, I make them fight - one gets sword and shield, the other weighted net and trident - but that's just how I roll.

By the way Paul, nice name.

Ah, the wet dream scenario!
