How much harder than normal, would it be for a first-time writer to get a sitcom made, if it had Green Wing-length episodes, rather than just the usual half-hour?
Episode length
I'm guessing you would probably have to make the pilot yourself, I don't mean home-made stylee, but to professional standards and show that it could work. Start saving your pocket money and making those contacts.
You should ask yourself if it needs to be 50 mins long and think about if it would be better to chop them in half and have a series that runs for twice as long, something I think the big wigs like.
Do you mean 12 episodes, instead of 6? Or do you just mean I'd have enough episodes for a second series of 6 half-hour episodes?
As a new writer I'd definitely stick to the half hour format. You don't want to be closing gates before they even creak open.
Well I suppose the first one catskillz.
Speaking of Green Wing, i heard that it originally wasn't set in a hospital. Anyone know where it was set and what the premise was?
