Internal Monologue Question

I was just wondering, if I wanted the internal monologue of my lead character, to be heard, in my sitcom, would everyone say I was copying Peep Show? I won't be doing it as much as they do, just a few times in each episode.

Oh, and I've just noticed, the thread title is missing a "t". Is it possible to edit thread titles?

EDIT: Title amended by SlagA. ;)

I doubt it. Using an internal monologue is similar to using voiceover.

I had the same thoughts about something I wrote. Although Peep Show and Scrubs come across very different to each other so if your character's are nothing like Mark, Jez or J.D. you'll probably be OK I reckon.

Agree with HotZappa11, I always use VO if I ever need internal monologue. And don't worry about using that, it's a technique available to all.

Love Soup uses it of course as well

Which is brilliant.

No, loads of shows use it; its not unique to Peep Show.

The difference with Peep Show is that the internal thoughts are a lot more honest and really are internal thoughts, rather then narration like in Scrubs, where J.D comments on what others are feeling.
