RTD quits Dr.Who - Moffat takes over Yay!!! Page 5

I am rather satisfied for Moffat taking on the exec. production role, Doctor Who I hope may get darker and less comical

Not by much I doubt; its a family show on Saturday at seven o'clock, its got to respect what it is.

You obviously don't remember Blankety Blank then? :D

True, but more scary eps like Blink and less farting Slitheen would still be a very welcome change.

Hopefully, but if anyone thinks its suddenly going to turn into (Modern) Battlestar Gallactica, theyre wrong, it never could because its a mainstream show that has to appeal to as many people as possible to survive.

You mean that he hasn't met you yet. Right?

I was gonna say that! There should be some kind of game show like "I'd Do Anything" in which Laura could take part to win him.

It wouldn't even have to be renamed.

Laughing out loud

She would, of course, be every contestant.

But with different facial expressions-one to match each of Tennant's.

And she would have to replace the entire judging panel who would mysteriously disappear - except Barrowman of course!

Im not all for having it all comical just more darker episodes like Blink and Empty Child, even Sally Sparrow from Blink in series 3 was a good character and also sould be a number 1 contender to be an assistant

Agreed, Dr.Who is never going to turn into Battlestar Galactica, and nor should it. I just wish it could take more of a middle path between Galactica and Rentaghost than it currently does.

Spot on. Too many people watch it for the laughs, and say it's "light entertainment" and "turn your brain off and watch." It should be more than that. You wouldn't accept that for Star Trek, or the X-Files.

I remember a quote from Steven Moffat in 2005 in the Radio Times in which he said Doctor Who runs the gamut from "Quatermass to the Chuckle Brothers". I remember thinking: it shouldn't! Or if it does, someone should be sacked. It should be 100% nothing like the Chuckle Brothers.

:O

What's wrong with the Chuckle Brothers? They'd make better companions than that Catherine Tate character.

Can you imagine that? I'd rather not...
