Why is Trendy seemingly never online? He posts and gets out quick lest we snare him in a net of divergent opinion!

Well, it's true that if people didn't like them, they wouldn't watch them. Possibly that encourages the TV companies to make more of them, and put soap elements into other dramas. Some people are brought up on soap now and couldn't watch or make programmes without it.
Quote: Matthew Stott @ May 20 2008, 2:45 PM BSTNot if someone doesnt happen to like soap operas; up to them surely? I can take them or leave them; I used to watch a few but I cant be arsed anymore. Never short of a forcefully voiced opinion are you Trendy?
If someone doesn't like them, that's fine. But I suspect that an awful lot of people who bang on about how crap they are will not have watched enough to make a qualified judgement.
Youve done it again Trendy! Do you sign in and out quick or something?!

That's like forcing someone to keep eating chinese food until he likes it. They're judgement is they don't like it that's why they don't watch it.

When someone has a "my way or the highway" attitude it's best policy to let them keep driving blind. There could just be a cliff around the next corner

Negative. Before making a judgement, you need to do the research. So, fine, you may not have previously enjoyed soap - but before you make a grand dismissal of the genre, you really do need to watch some current examples in order to be able to come up with a passable critique. then, I would be more than happy to listen and meditate on your findings.
Says the never on-line man. Hes magic.

At least a word that sounds like magic anyway

Hes certainly secure in the worth and absolute truth of his own opinions, Ill give him that much.
I've seen my share of Crossroads, Coronation Street, and Eastenders, and also Emmerdale. I don't like the way the evening's TV is totally dominated by soaps. You can change channels and go from one to the other all night long. And that's just the half hour ones. The one hour dramas are pretty much soaps as well.

I think blinkered would be a better word.
Anybody who does not agree with his opinion has not done their research it seems and he had the cheek to tell me to be more open-minded a few days back
Trying to rhyme 'magic'...no joy.
I am also flexible in my opinions. I'm passionate about learning, and I'm passionate about life.
