Sorry, just my little pieceofirritatingpedanticism
I've mentioned on other threads how much I like Sarah Silverman and how I really hope to see more of her in the UK in the future. I love this show. It's so weird, but wonderfully put together. The two gay guys are a real hoot. I hope this show comes out on DVD over here.
See. I don't get it. I love Silverman's stand-up but I think her show is horrible. It's poorly written and is just another piece of crap from Comedy Central.
I think I prefer the sitcom to the stand up. Jesus is Magic is great, but it's just Sarah whereas the sitcom has other characters as well.
Comedy Central have just started running repeats of this tonight. The second episode has just finished and I've enjoyed it so far. It's a bit inconsistent really; some is quite ... I suppose 'dull', but there are laught-out-loud moments. Also a couple of those horrible comedy songs, but they're very short 'asides' and not really related to the plot or conveying any part of the story at all (plus they're funny). Not a perfect show, but I've not actually disliked anything yet, so quite pleased really. I'll certainly be watching further.
It's a good show, with genuine laugh out loud moments, but as you say, a bit inconsistent on the laughs, sometimes it can be really smart and funny, then become really dumb and unfunny. But mostly it is good.
I still haven't got around to watching the second season.
I've just watched an episode from season two with Matt Berry (IT Crowd) in it. Very funny stuff. It's got a stupid plot, but then don't they all?
She was labelled the 'female Larry David'. I'm not sure why as when I watched the first series thought it was pretty weak and dull.
I watched some clips from the new show and it is actually growing on me. Her stand up material isn't bad either.
I'm not sure I could put her in the same league as Mr David, but getting better.
I have just discovered I love Sarah Silverman.
Who knew.
yay!
I watch the show in puzzelment that it isn't that funny.
If you don't find it funny, why do you watch it?
Well if enough other people think it's funny I'll give it a go a few times.
Otherwise I'd still be watching people go "peek aboo I see you,"
Which would probably be funnier.

That is pretty funny!
