Soap Opera.

TV PRESENTER ON STAGE,

Tonight on ITV, we present a 2 hour documentary on the McCann's and the 2 years since Maddy went missing.

We are strongly aware of the couple's fear of their life being turned into a soap opera, by greedy ratings hungry broadcasters. Well we at ITV, are highly moral broadcasters, we wouldn't do that. Just like we wouldn't charge you a tenner for a contest that closed days ago.

A lot of your satirical stuff flags up the notion you are tackling in a pretty heavy handed way.

"Well we at ITV, are highly moral broadcasters, we wouldn't do that. Just like we wouldn't charge you a tenner for a contest that closed days ago."

That just feels like a sign post, not overly funny and not believable. Its a bit like impressionists that open their act "frank spencer here....hello betty"
"

It's for a stage show, they like their sign posts, bless 'em.

If anything a strong intro line helps.

Was reading recently about how Shakespeare did something very similar.

For a radio, or TV slot, I'd be more likely to go for.
