Treatments for subsequent episodes

Hi,

I've finished an initial script which I plan to send to script advisors, then production companies. Do I need to send a treatment for the next 5 episodes? If so, how long should they be and what should they include (e.g. just plot and sub-plot outlines or some examples of jokes..)

Thanks.

My advice, just do a page of thumbnail descriptions of what future episodes might entail. Too much detail can be scary. Only go into real detail if you snag a production companies attention.

I never bother, and it's not affected me really. The prods still read it and get back to me.

With my sitcom I sent in the first episode, then they asked for an outline of each further episode, specifically no longer than a paragraph on each one.

Thing is with my sitcom each episode is going to focus on a different main character, all of whom would have been introduced in the first episode. Stuff will be hinted at in first episode that will seem meaningless unless further episode outlines are included. So, should I bother in this case? A paragraph maybe with:

This episode focuses on XXX and his attempts to ???? ("INSERT JOKE HERE")

I would tell them this.
